Psoriasis is a non-infectious, inflammatory disease of the skin. Reddish plaques with large, silvery scales appear on skin. Ayurveda describes this condition as the disturbance of Vata and Kapha. Due to this condition, low potency toxins accumulate in the metabolical system. Psoriasis can be hereditary, as parent(s) can pass on the disease to children. It can also be caused by unhealthy diet habits, like eating dairy products with meat or fish, overconsumption of yoghurt, etc., while alcohol and tobacco consumption can act as a catalyst.
Changathu uses a combination of detoxification treatments (panchakrama) as well as specially prepared medicines to treat psoriasis. The medicines include Jeevanthyadi ghritham, Thriphaladi (21), etc., as well as our special formulations like A-Fungal oil, Vrinari etc. Therapies with special lepams, Thakra dhara, Virechanam, etc are also adhered to, for treatment.
